Cyient Semiconductors Private Limited, a Cyient Group company, and MIPS, a global leader in RISC-V processor IP, announced a strategic collaboration on 12 June 2025.
The partnership aims to develop domain-optimized ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) and ASSP (application-specific standard product) solutions.
These solutions will leverage MIPS Atlas portfolio of advanced, efficient RISC-V processor IP, combined with Cyient's Analog Mixed Signal capabilities and intelligent power delivery expertise.
The collaboration focuses on enabling real-time, safety-critical applications, power delivery, and compute efficiency in demanding platforms.
Key target markets include automotive, industrial, and data centers, with specific focus on Motor Control & Data Center Power Delivery.
Suman Narayan, CEO of Cyient Semiconductors, stated that the collaboration will bring together embedded intelligence and advanced power architectures in custom silicon platforms, built for a more connected and power-efficient world.
Sameer Wasson, CEO of MIPS, highlighted that MIPS M8500 microcontrollers are optimal for power efficiency and motor control real-time compute workloads, allowing for differentiated solutions with Cyient's capabilities.
Targeted applications include motor drive control, intelligent power management, power delivery management, and safety-critical applications, offered as ASSP or ASIC platforms.
