Infosys Limited, a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, announced on 4 June 2025 an update to its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Vision for 2030. This renewed vision builds upon commitments first articulated in 2020, with bolder aspirations focusing on climate change, water and waste management, digital skilling and employability, workplace inclusivity, community amplification, employee wellness, and corporate governance.
Salil Parekh, Chief Executive Officer, Infosys, stated that the ESG 2030 roadmap is a blueprint for pioneering responsible business leadership, emphasizing sustainability, social responsibility, and exemplary governance. He noted that as progress has been made, the vision for the future has grown bolder, reflected in the updates, while the commitment to being a well-governed organization remains unchanged.
Highlights of Infosys’ ESG Achievements include:
- Achieved carbon neutrality for the sixth consecutive year in FY25.
- Increased 430 crore liters (4.3 billion liters) in water holding capacity through 11 lake rejuvenation projects across India over FY24 and FY25.
- More than 12.5 crore lives (125 million lives) empowered via TechForGood programs in e-governance, healthcare, and education.
- Reached 1.33 crore people (13.3 million people) through digital skilling initiatives.
- Recognized among the World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere for the fifth consecutive year.
- First India-headquartered company to receive Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) approval from EU data protection authorities.
Highlights of Updated ESG Goals:
- Achieve climate positive status by 2030 by implementing initiatives across Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions to reduce the company's carbon footprint. This aims to sequester more carbon from the atmosphere than emissions, moving beyond Net Zero, while remaining carbon neutral until 2029.
- Extend digital skills to empower over 1.8 crore people (18 million plus people), including employees, clients’ workforce, students, teachers, and communities, and enable employment opportunities for over 5 lakh people (500,000 plus people).
- Amplify Communities by transforming and creating sustainable communities through Tech for Good initiatives, job creation, and CSR efforts, including employee volunteering, healthcare interventions, and women’s empowerment.
- Continue to prioritize the interests of all stakeholders through an empowered, diverse, and inclusive Board.
- Shape and embrace leading data privacy standards across various geographies of business operations and be an industry leader in information security practices.
