Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), the electric vehicle arm of Jupiter Wagons Limited, announced on 27 May 2025, that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pickkup, a Delhi-based logistics platform. This partnership aims to boost electric vehicle adoption in India's logistics sector, aligning with the Government of India's vision for clean mobility and the PM e-DRIVE scheme.
- Under the MOU, 300 units of JEM TEZ, JEM's electric light commercial vehicle (e-LCV), will be deployed in Pickkup's growing EV fleet by the end of this year.
- The collaboration commenced with the successful delivery of the first batch of JEM TEZ vehicles, following extensive pilot runs. These pilot runs demonstrated exceptional capability, real-world performance, range reliability, and operational efficiency across both intra-city and inter-city routes.
- The JEM TEZ vehicles exhibited a consistent range of over 190 km, reaching up to 220 km on a single charge in varying operating conditions, including heavy urban roads and intercity corridors like Delhi to Chandigarh. They also support a 1050 kg payload and offer CCS2 charging compatibility.
- Mr. Vivek Lohia, Managing Director, Jupiter Group, stated that JEM's mission is to provide logistics providers with next-generation electric vehicles that excel in performance, sustainability, and profitability. He emphasized that the alliance with Pickkup is a strategic step towards achieving India's clean mobility goals and facilitating the mass adoption of electric commercial vehicles.
- Mr. Ankush Sharma, Co-founder and CEO of Pickkup, expressed his impressiveness with JEM TEZ, highlighting its ability to address real-time challenges by offering increased range and payload capacity. He noted that these vehicles are set to be deployed for intercity logistics, enabling higher earning potential for operators.
- Pickkup is an EV-first logistics company operating across key NCR cities and tier-2 markets such as Mohali and Chandigarh. In February 2025, the company secured $500K in seed funding.
- Jupiter Electric Mobility reinforces its commitment to India’s clean mobility goals through its state-of-the-art EV manufacturing plant in Pithampur, Indore, which has an initial production capacity of 8,000 to 10,000 e-LCVs with plans for phased expansion.
