Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the Hon’ble Supreme Court challenging the Final Order dated October 24, 2024, passed by the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL).
The SLP is against Appeal No. 245 of 2018 and Appeal No. 376 of 2018.
Despite the APTEL judgment dated October 23, 2024, MSEDCL has continued to levy Wheeling Charges, Wheeling Losses, and Transmission Charges and Losses.
Laxmi Organic Industries Limited (LXCHEM) filed a Contempt Petition before APTEL, which was dismissed due to lack of civil contempt jurisdiction.
LXCHEM has also filed Writ Petition (L) No. 14504 of 2025 before the Hon’ble Bombay High Court, challenging the continued levy of charges by MSEDCL as illegal. The matter is scheduled for further hearing on June 10, 2025.
