Reliance Power Limited's subsidiary, Reliance NU Energies Private Limited, has secured the largest allocation in SJVN's tariff-based competitive bidding process for ISTS-connected Solar + Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
The allocation comprises 350 MW of solar generation capacity coupled with 175 MW/700 MWh of BESS.
The winning tariff is ₹3.33/kWh, fixed for a 25-year period.
The project will be developed under a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) framework.
With this win, Reliance Power states it becomes India's largest player in the integrated Solar + BESS segment, with a total clean energy pipeline of 2.5 GWp solar and over 2.5 GWhr BESS capacity.
The awarded project requires a minimum four-hour daily discharge window to enable assured peak power delivery.
The company also highlighted its subsidiary Reliance NU Suntech Private Limited's recent signing of a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SECI for Asia's largest integrated Solar and BESS project (930 MW solar + 465 MW/1860 MWh BESS) with an investment outlay of up to ₹10,000 crore and a tariff of ₹3.53/kWh.
