Tata Motors Limited reported total sales of 70,187 units in the domestic and international markets for May 2025, a decrease from 76,766 units sold in May 2024.
Domestic Sales Performance:
Total domestic sales for May 2025 were 67,429 units, a 10% decline compared to 75,173 units in May 2024.
Commercial Vehicles (CV):
Total CV sales were 28,147 units in May 2025, marking a 5% year-on-year decrease.
Domestic CV sales stood at 25,872 units, down 9% from May 2024.
CV International Business (IB) sales saw an 87% growth, reaching 2,275 units.
Category-wise domestic CV sales performance:
HCV Trucks: 7,106 units (-10% YoY)
ILMCV Trucks: 4,954 units (+11% YoY)
Passenger Carriers: 4,748 units (0% YoY)
SCV cargo and pickup: 9,064 units (-20% YoY)
Domestic sales of MH&ICV (trucks and buses) were 12,406 units in May 2025, compared to 12,987 units in May 2024.
Total sales for MH&ICV (Domestic & International Business) were 13,614 units in May 2025, against 13,532 units in May 2024.
Passenger Vehicles (PV):
Total PV sales (including EV) were 42,040 units in May 2025, an 11% year-on-year decline.
Domestic PV sales (including EV) reached 41,557 units, also down 11% from May 2024.
PV International Business (IB) sales increased by 28% to 483 units.
Electric Vehicle (EV) sales (IB + Domestic) grew by 2% to 5,685 units.
